Rebekah Barnes
Rebekah and her husband Ty are the founders of Operation Help the Kids which is a non profit dedicated to obtaining fitness and recreation equipment for various youth organizations.
Because of her love and knowledge of fitness, she became certified as a personal trainer through the National Exercise and Sports Trainer Association (NESTA), scoring a 94% upon graduation.
She enjoys a wide range of exercise including jogging, biking, aerobics, aquatics, and weight training. It has now become a great passion of hers to help people achieve their health, fitness, and weight loss goals with the use of diet and specific exercise training.
She understands firsthand the struggles of being overweight and out of shape. Her maximum weight was 190 pounds and exercise was nowhere to be found in her daily routine. Through continued use of diet and regular exercise she was able to reach and maintain her weight and fitness goals. It has now become her great passion to help other people achieve their health, fitness, and weight loss goals.
Rebekah enjoys using a wide range of equipment combined with her skills, whether in individual training or in group training. Weight machines, bands, balls, Bosu’s, dumbbells, bars, pulleys, and kettle balls are just to name a few. She believes in constant change to keep the body in constant progression.
In addition to individual personal training, she also teaches a wide range of classes. She teaches deep and shallow water aerobics, total body conditioning, stretching, a boot camp style class and a balance class for seniors and post rehab clients.
Rebekah finds it extremely rewarding to work with clients dealing with physical limitations. Among her clientele are post-rehab patients recovering from hip and knee replacements, shoulder, back, neck and ankle surgeries, Parkinson’s disease and neuropathy.
What most people notice about Rebekah is her warm personality and kind spirit. She has a way of making all her clients look forward to the next session.
Rebekah has been featured in the media with one of Sarasota’s top radio personalities, Rochelle Herman, and has contributed to health and fitness articles in various periodicals as well.
Rebekah was born in Salem, Ohio. Although living in Milwaukee WI and Tucson, AZ, she spent the majority of her adolescent years in beautiful Maggie Valley, North Carolina. She moved to Ocala, Florida 18 years ago and is excited about her recent relocation to Sarasota.
